Axe Run is a running game with a building twist. You sprint along a track armed with an axe, chopping through barriers and gathering wood as you go.
Gates placed along the route boost your speed, and the wood you collect helps you improve your character and build up a city between runs. This mix of action and light management means each level feeds into a bigger goal, as your growing town reflects the resources you have gathered. There are many levels, and it is free to play.
On desktop, hold the right mouse button and swipe to steer your runner. On mobile, hold your finger on the screen and swipe to move. The game is shown in landscape mode. Aim to pass through as many speed gates as possible, but do not ignore wood piles to reach them, since resources are what upgrade your runner and expand the city, making later levels much easier to complete.
If it clicks with you, Sunny Bay Heroes, Ragdoll Runner: Run, but Don't Break! and Robby Mini Games are close in spirit.
