Good Knight Story opens with a hero waking up in a dungeon with a headache and no memory of the night before. Working out what happened is the thread that ties the game together, and it is told with plenty of jokes along the way.
The puzzles are match-based. You connect identical elements on the board, and each level has a specific task shown in the top-right corner, so clearing tiles at random is not enough. Matches also power the fights against monsters, with boss battles along the route.
There are more than 100 levels. A character upgrade system, upgradeable weapons, unlockable boosts and daily gifts give you more firepower as the story progresses.
It plays on mobile and desktop.
Check the level task before your first move. Many levels ask for a particular element or a number of matches, and focusing on that finishes the level far faster than chasing big combos.
