Hero vs Monster is an action puzzle game in which a brave hero fights monsters by pushing bricks. You can push blocks to defeat enemies, merge matching blocks to make useful items and solve puzzles to move forward. Each level requires you to find the key and unlock the exit, which adds a clear goal to the puzzle solving. The strategy comes from working out the order of pushes, since a poorly placed block may trap you. You play with the mouse, and the layout is horizontal in a desktop browser. Levels grow harder as they introduce new mechanics. Tip: look for a way to use bricks as weapons first, and delay merging blocks until you know exactly which item you will need to reach the key.
